Week 6 Term 3

25 August 2018

AUT Live 2018
This was an open day for people who are uncertain about what they want to do when they leave high school and the range of things that are going to be available for them, it was great fun and educational, the whole day was helpful to me because it helped me look in the direction I want to go. When we came to school Tapu one of the AUT members handed all of us an AUT t-shirt that we were going to wear the whole day so we could be recognized by the staff at AUT. Our trip started with us going to AUT Manukau and picking up students from other schools, when we reached the campus we had a whole day planned for us.

The session started with us getting into our color groups which meant each one of our schools had to split up into different groups so that we can get to know each other better and aren't strangers to each other, than we had group activities which each group had to complete, it started with going around campus and taking pictures of the locations that were given and specified and this also included a tour and brief of the campus of where what is, when the activities were completed we went back to the open area where we began our session. We then had the challenge to come up with a chant that is 20 seconds long for your group.

We then got an opportunity to explore the campus which was located in different places, the first place me and my new friends went was the food science which was where we made ice-cream and ginger beer, we also made freeze-dried strawberries. After the activities, we all went to the food restaurant, the corner. The Exciting thing about the day was the food voucher we had been given by the AUT group members, my friends and I all bought a big feed to fill our tummies. once we were done with the food we went back to the meeting ground and had one last talk with the AUT staff members to discuss our day and how we enjoyed it.

The day for me was an awesome and amazing learning experience for me and maybe for some of my friends cause I know I might want to go to AUT.

Tuesday, Wednesday was a normal day aswell, but Thursday was an exciting day because we dissected a sheeps pluck (sheeps heart and lung) in my biology class, it gave me an insight on how an animals work. We also got to go home early due to there being a junior parents interviews, I helped out in the sausage sizzle for the interviews. Friday was a normal day as usual had one hour periods and finished school at 3.10pm.

School Week 1 Term 3

This will be my first post for my blog that I will be posting on every week. These posts will retain a lot from my week and a lot from my group which is the 2018 leadership group, the post will conclude with a nice message for all the people that will be watching my posts.

Well, my week has gone great, an I made lots of new friends with new people. In biology, I experienced the beauty of our Planet Earth. I learned how breathing differs from such a wide variety of animals. In English, my classmates and I blasted off to space with three inspiring women in the movie Hidden Figures. In music, my ears danced to the rhythms of pop culture. In travel and tourism and geography, we have started our first amusement of term 3 which I am very excited about, these credits will definitely help me get closer to the 80 mark. Finally, in my math class, we are finishing off our assignments from term 2 which is helping everyone get on track so we can start our next assessment as soon as possible.

Finally, I'm going to end off with a quote: The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. This ladies and gentlemen is the best way to remain positive and focused.
